Our World
As I ponder on the road I have traveled in my life, I have come to the realization that my path could have been very different if I had listened to my inner spirit. This world we live in can be very harsh and unforgiving and we seem to allow it to control us. We give in to the demands of our lives on the premises that we have to have this to survive. Yet, our ancestors had less than we did and they survived just fine. They did not need the objects of our civilization we have now to exist. This world that belonged to others before us was clean and pure in a sense that the Native Americans who lived here lived off the land. They only used what they needed for survival and used it wisely. They respected the land and each other. A tribe not only consisted of many families but in a sense was a family in itself. The ways of the white world that was brought with the first settlers was only the start of the destruction of this world that was once free of chemicals and pollutions that could kill. The diseases they brought would eventually wipe out all but a few of each tribe in this great nation. Civilization is still wiping out the people of this world. In a off chance that they can better our technology or life itself, they are polluting the atmospheres, the waters, and even the ground itself. The builders are destroying the trees, the wildlife, and the sacred grounds of those before us, all in the name of civilization and money. If I had to choose between living with today's technologies or living off the land with my ancestors, I would choose the Native Americans and living off the land. They respected each other and the world they were given. They deserved better than they got. Civilization is just a word, civilized is just a figment of the word. Life is what you make it, your inner spirit is what is given to you at birth to guide you, whether you listen to it or not , it stays there and eventually you will hear it.

As i sat on my front porch today, wondering about my future and what I am to do with my life at this point,I was blessed with a total feeling of peace. Since losing my job last year, I have been put in situations I have never been in as bad before. Finances , housing, just everything to do with caring and providing for those I love have been a total struggle. But when it gets overwhelming, I have to make myself sit back and take a deep breath and find a place to relax for a second. Today it was my front porch swing with a book. The breeze was blowing, birds singing, and just everything was calm. No one fussing, phone did not ring (suprisingly) , and the book was good. It is amazing how we forget to take time to relax like that. No money was spent on a getaway somewhere. It was totally free. I'll have to remember to do that more often.

Life's rewards
Life. It can be so sweet, like the sound of rain falling through the trees . Or the waves lapping at the seashore on a summer night. Nothing beats the thrill of living life to the fullest you can., of course, we always want more. But you cant get a better adrenaline rush than the continuing ups and downs brought on by everyday life. One minute you could be flying high on an eagles wings and the next you are the rabbit he is dive bombing to carry away. Or maybe we're the little stream flowing through the mountains at a peaceful pace, enjoying the views, just to end up flowing over the waterfall into the rapids below. Our lives are very much in tune with the nature around us. The sound of the red-tail hawk can be soothing to hear if you take the time to listen. But one has to slow their fast paced life down to hear such things. You don't have to bungee jump cliffs or free fall from them to get a joy out of life. Slow down, take a look around, enjoy the world we live in. Enjoy life as best you can and get your "rush" from living it the best way you can with those you love. The rewards are much better and last longer than a bungee jump.
