As the wolf howled in the moonlight,
calling to its mate;
The stars shined upon its fur,
making it look as though a silvery shadow.
The answering call
carried on the wind,
Speaking to his heart
of his family afar.
A wolf's love is everlasting,
their mate a partner for life;
The love of each other
a gift from the Great One above.
