Its summertime in Florida. Time to sit around in the evening on a Saturday night with the family and friends. Got that bonfire blazing to new heights. The stereo is cranking out the tunes of all three generations sitting around that fire. Stories of the growing up years being stretched one more time. The grill is sending out smoke signals to everyone that its job is almost done. Got the basics on it too: burgers, hot dogs, chicken, and ribs. Something for every body's taste. And you know its good because the same hands that's fixed it all the other times is doing it again, after all, why ruin a good thing, right? Covered dishes line a table under the big oak and the chairs are scattered around between the table and the fire. Horseshoes clank in the background as someone yells they got a ringer. Kids are playing the old faves of freeze tag and hide-n-seek. As the dinner call is made , everyone gathers around the tables to hold hands and bless the food and families there with a prayer of thanks. Now as the evening birds start to sing , the circle of life around that fire settles in to enjoy the feast and the fellowship of loved ones.

Moonlight Beach
To be sitting by a campfire on a deserted beach and enjoying the quiet is a dream. Listening to the sound of the waves softly kissing the shore, holding the hand of your loved one. The moonbeams are dancing on the water inviting you to come and join them. There is a warm breeze blowing, whispering in your ear to go and join in the dance. Then , off in the distance, a little light sways back and forth with the rocking of the waves. Its a sailboat with the sails now reflecting the moonlight and looking beautiful to the eye. Someone is sitting on that boat while it floats across the calm sea to nowhere in particular. Just drifting along the shoreline, enjoying the same tranquillity that you are. The soft sound of music floats through the air , a sweet song to seal the quiet of the moment. The fire throws out its warmth to chase the chill away. So with the stars twinkling above, the soft music to lull one asleep, snuggle in and drift along in the dream.
Life's rewards
Life. It can be so sweet, like the sound of rain falling through the trees . Or the waves lapping at the seashore on a summer night. Nothing beats the thrill of living life to the fullest you can., of course, we always want more. But you cant get a better adrenaline rush than the continuing ups and downs brought on by everyday life. One minute you could be flying high on an eagles wings and the next you are the rabbit he is dive bombing to carry away. Or maybe we're the little stream flowing through the mountains at a peaceful pace, enjoying the views, just to end up flowing over the waterfall into the rapids below. Our lives are very much in tune with the nature around us. The sound of the red-tail hawk can be soothing to hear if you take the time to listen. But one has to slow their fast paced life down to hear such things. You don't have to bungee jump cliffs or free fall from them to get a joy out of life. Slow down, take a look around, enjoy the world we live in. Enjoy life as best you can and get your "rush" from living it the best way you can with those you love. The rewards are much better and last longer than a bungee jump.
I am a nature freak. The animals and there habitats are paying a big price for the growth of our population. They are being pushed, killed, or hauled out of there homes so that more housing can be built. What happened to the laws that protect the eagles and such. I have seen their habitat , where they have lived for years be torn down for housing developments . I have seen our historic trails turn in to condos and wetlands destroyed. All for the money. More land is being cleared daily, and for what? There are tons of places where a previous contractor or financiers could not finish what he started. Multiple homes, new ones, that have been built but not sold because there is no money for people to spend. So why must we keep destroying our wildlife just to build a house that no one has the money to buy or rent? What purpose does this serve?
